Double take – The Smith Twins – Rider Profile

Not one, but two! Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have someone who looks exactly like you? The Smith twins have been together since… well, conception. They live together, work together, and race together. As I write this I can’t help but think of Ecclesiastes 4:9- “Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed”.

  • How did ya’ll get started racing? It was just one of the things most of our family and a lot of guys around here do.
  • When did ya’ll start racing?  We started pretty young but we did take a few years off. Last year was our first year back racing.
  • Who is part of the regular Smith Racing crew?  Our parents and grandparents. Our cousins, the Ousley’s and Carters and also the Yeargan’s pit with us. We all try to help each other at the races. Racing is a family event for us.
  • What other hobbies do each of you have besides racing?  Patrick: About the only thing we do is auto body stuff. The rest of our time we spend racing.
  • Didn’t both of you play ball ? Patrick: Yes, but let’s just say our older brother Parker got the ball skills out of the three of us.
  • So you get to train with Tyler and the Ousleys? Patrick: Yeah we get to work that in from time to time and they pass on some top secret stuff. I have to give it to my cousins they have great talent.
  • How can people tell you guys apart? Dylan:  I have a cowlick in the front portion of my hair and a dimple in my left cheek.
  • What goes through your mind when you hear, “TEN SECONDS!” Patrick: “Come on four-stroke crank for me first kick.” Dylan: “Get a good start and don’t fold it in the first corner.”
