The buddy series season finale on Saturday was the largest turnouts of the year and the ones who showed up for the event came with winning on their agenda. Several states were represented trying to de-throne Red and Tyler before the next season starts. Things didn’t start off well for Cliff Ousley as he wound up in the bank off turn one after the start on the oval dirt track. He charged hard and came through the scoring tent after one lap in 3rd place. Settled in there for a while until later in the day when bike troubles caused him and younger brother, Neal, to ride the same bike. They would finish the day 6th overall. The top 5 overall teams scrapped it out all day with the LA guys, Smith and Van Way leading at the half way point of the race when they also had bike trouble and had to finish the day on Smith’s bike. They finished 3rd overall. The teams of Carter/Alexander and Cowan/McCoy had a great battle going on until the last lap when Alexander stepped up his game to pull away from Cowan and take the overall win. Lance Hoover has been riding with Gary Barr at previous events but this time he teamed up with another Barr, Adam, and they ran a solid race to claim 4th overall for the day followed by the two Micah’s, Seale and Williams. Mark Lewis ran consistent 16+ minutes until he took a 3 minute breather in the pits at the half way point and then went back out and ran 16+ minute laps once again to ace the Ironman class for the day.
The season open for the 2013-2014 season is August 31 at Chickenhouse in Stanton, AL.
