  • Hometown: Grant, AL
  • Age: Unanswered
  • Class: XC2
  • Bike: 2013 KTM 350
  • Years racing: 40
  • How did the first round of the season go for you? The first round at the chicken house I was 15th overall and 3rd senior.
  • What are your goals for this upcoming season? My goal this year is to win the xc2 class and stay in the top 10 overall.
  • Are you making any changes for round 2? After the first round I decided to move to xc2 so I could start in the same class as my son Adam who moved down from xc1. We figured we might not have many more opportunities left to race in the same class.
  • What are some words of wisdom from Gary Barr? My words of wisdom is don’t crash on the 1st lap and don’t take for granted that we are able to do this and appreciate all parts of it including being able to share it with family and friends.
  • What race are you looking forward to most this year? I’m looking forward to the races at the new venues just for the unknown.
  • Tell us about your most memorable racing experience. My most memorable racing experience would have to be soloing the Baja 1000 in 2009. I just turned 50 and was the 4th overall solo bike. The whole experience of racing without having to dodge trees was fun. I’ve been asked which was harder Baja or soloing the Perry Mountain 24hr and I would have to say the 24hr.
